Katie, 19—a freshman at Mizzou and a member of Chi Omega

Older brother, Mark (the original “Archie”) lives in Chicago with his wife and three sons.

Older sister, Terry (the quiet one but the sweetest sister a guy could want), lives in northern California with her husband and two daughters.

Mom passed away 5 years ago in California, but Dad is alive and well in Webster Groves with “my other mother” whom he married 32 years ago.

CHS Memories (Friends, Funniest story, Teachers, Events, Activities, Sports, Songs, Would like to forget…, etc.)

Well, because I attended 3 high schools and graduated from Kirkwood, my memories of CHS are few.  Matt, of course, died in 1972, the beginning of our junior year at KHS so that period is kind of a blur. But my few days at CHS remain good memories: freshman football and all the pep rallies; Depo; getting buzzed with Hahs and Lowe et al in Davis Place; kicking some U. City ass in Khoury League playing for Guy Sachs’ dad (my other dad); playing sandlot sports with Monaghan and LaDriere ad infinitim, marveling still that my right arm is attached at the shoulder from all the fuzzballs and corkballs we threw; April and Ivy dazzling the new friends in Webster, who are still my friends to this day; standing outside 905 or the A&P begging for someone to buy us beer; learning about kosher food from Harvey and Inie at the Posh Nosh (still haven’t had a better knishJ ).

After High School (Career, Accomplishments, Favorite Activities, Message to classmates…, etc.)

First of all, I’m very pleased to be included in the reunion.  I recall fondly many of the friendships Matt and I made in Clayton, and my memories there are among my happiest.

Anyway, I’ve been working as a paramedic in south county for more than 25 years, the fireman kind of shift—24 hour days, 10 days per month—and still love what I do.  Also became a registered nurse about 10 years ago, but boating and motorcycling get in the way of doing any more nursing.  Gee, work can really cramp my lifestyle!  Graduated from SIU- Edwardsville with a mass comm/journalism degree but never did anything with it other than edit our fire department newsletter.  Married almost 19 years to a girl from Illinois/William Woods U., but now divorced 5 years and dating a wonderful woman, Casey (McCaskill) Lucas, herself a CHS ’79 grad.

Have really enjoyed reacquainting with Andy Eidelman over some brewskies and Dead music (and what a great job he and the others are doing with the reunion) and look forward to seeing many other friends when we get together in June.
