Family

Married the woman I fell in love with in college.  We’ve truly been blessed with two well-adjusted caring and overall outstanding children, David 13 and Emily 11.  At this point in life, I can’t imagine things being any better.

CHS Memories (Friends, Funniest story, Teachers, Events, Activities, Sports, Songs, Would like to forget…, etc.)

I loved high school and have many fond memories.  It seems like every weekend was a great time. Fun memories of the basement at Ground Round, train hopping, watching Grant dump the Steak ‘n’ Shake curb-service tray off his window and drive away - by the way, for those of you who don’t know, Steak ‘n’ Shake is no longer there. Buying Boone’s Farm wine at 905.  Watching Tubba eat those hot dogs.  Finding a way to get Billy Arndt in trouble, as if he needed my help, thinking Scott Kist was a teacher when I first met him and working at Gas House with Abell and Ellis.  Two indelible memories, one watching Paul D. ram Grant’s grandparent’s mint condition mustang into a tree and the other was when Wally Geitz stopped class and pulled Duff, Keith Harrison & me out into the hall after we got the three highest grades on a recent geometry test.  Mr. Geitz said, “if anyone of you can show me how you did just one of these problems (obviously we didn’t show our work) I’ll give all three of you credit”.  Well, we were screwed and I took geometry in summer school. I enjoyed Dr. Morrison’s class and I saw him not too long ago. We chatted for a while; he looks the same, just a little older – probably like a lot of us!  Mr. Baker tried to straighten me out and I thank him for that. Also enjoyed the many conversations and friendship with Joe Dickmann. Starting freshman basketball, having run-ins with Hopper & Pikey.…. I really enjoyed the variety of friends I had, many of which I still have today. I hung out with some great guys and girls.  It seems back then, times were carefree and enjoyable and I’ll always remember the people I was close with.

After High School (Career, Accomplishments, Favorite Activities, Message to classmates…, etc.)

Graduated U of MO – Columbia with a BS.  A few years later I went back and got a Master’s.  Had a hard time leaving Columbia, as a college town it was way too much fun. Moved back to St. Louis in the early 80’s.  Career wise I have been extremely fortunate.  I have had a career that has allowed me to participate in many worthwhile and unique redevelopment projects in the St. Louis area.  I have mostly worked for entities that have taken on difficult redevelopment projects in the older declining urban core.  I’m currently working on a project for the Missouri Botanical Gardens. When complete we will have transformed one of the worst neighborhoods in St. Louis into the City’s largest market rate housing development ever.  I’ve enjoyed thinking I’ve made a difference. One of the nice things about living in St. Louis is that you have the opportunity to stay in touch with many friends that you have known since, in some cases, grade school, 6th grade camp or Wydown.  There’s a group of us that have been playing basketball together for more than 20 years on Tuesday nights at the high school.  Not only do I get to see granddads and old friends like Duff and Phil O. but many other friends from CHS that came before and after us are regulars.  Most of my other activities center on my wife and children – We’re a close family and every minute together is precious and enjoyable.  My kids are still, barely at the age that we can all hang out together.  The four of us ski Colorado in the winter and we go to Michigan during the summer - life has been good and I am thankful for what we have.  If you’ve read this far, thanks - I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and renewing many old friendships.
