Family

Wife- Leslie (best thing that ever happen to me).  Married in 1979.

Daughter- Sarah (20) A kind decent person who wants to be a elementary school teacher.

Daughter- Elissa (17) A high-spirited high school junior who has many of my good traits and very few of my bad ones.

Mom- lives in Creve Coeur (complains we never visit enough; and we don’t)

Sister (Wendy, class of ’76) Married and 2 offspring in Potomac.  I actually get along with her now

CHS Memories (Friends, Funniest story, Teachers, Events, Activities, Sports, Songs, Would like to forget…, etc.)

My four years at CHS are sort of a blur for me.  I don’t have many of the vivid and positive memories that others have (having read some of their bios).  Looking back I don’t think I fit in well at CHS.  I was a socially awkward person who finally matured and caught up with the rest of the world in college and beyond.

-I remember with great fondness the kindness that Heather Frost and Sara Korklan showed by being my Pep Pals.

-I was very shy around the girls.  I remember I had a HUGE crush on one girl in particular, but I was afraid to say anything to her.  If she comes to the reunion I will probably fess up to my crush.

-I loved Jeff Morrison because he related better to high school people better than anyone I can recall.  I remember long discussions with him trying to decipher the meaning of Don McLean’s American Pie.

-I remember talking to Joe Dickman (the librarian) one day about his baseball card collection.  One thing led to another and he ended up selling me the collection for $8.  It’s worth over $20,000 now. OY!

-I felt pretty cool lettering Varsity in Cross Country as a sophomore.  I remember the only race I ever won, which was at Lafayette.

-Sam Houston’s winning shot to beat Bayless.

-I loved Stairway to Heaven (especially at the prom and at Depo) and was always disappointed when the slow part turned into the fast part.

-Taking Camie Christopher out on a date to Six Flags.  I wonder if she was just trying to piss off Jim Weyerman.  I hope it worked!

-I learned a lot from Mr. Hopper about competing in sports and it has served me to this day.

-My one experience in stagecraft with Hello Dolly left me wanting to participate in some kind of theatrical event again, and I have sung the last three years with the Buffalo Grove Singers.

-I remember spending time with Tom Arenberg, Bart Bartel, and Bob Buesinger

After High School (Career, Accomplishments, Favorite Activities, Message to classmates…, etc.)

-I have owned my own tax credit recovery business since 1998.  I finally am in my bliss by running the show.  It is the best thing I have done career wise and will probably take me till I retire, if I ever do.

-I caught the running bug in high school and it never left me.  I have run 12 Marathons, qualifying and running in the Boston Marathon in 2003 (see picture).  I will be running Boston again in 2005.  Hope to run a marathon in every state by the time I’m through.

-I regularly do bike rides of 25 to 100+ miles.

-I have stayed very close to Frank Lawton, Rob Reynolds, Rick Sanford and Gary Ross from ’75.  We have had a ‘reunion’ poker game every year since high school.  Frank survived a very serious battle with Leukemia so it makes us all the more grateful that we can still get together and rehash the good old days.

-I took some courses from Landmark Education in my early forties and it is one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

-I work with local high school kids as a mentor on special ‘retreat’ weekends where kids get to discuss what is really important to them in a very safe and nurturing environment.

-Life has been very good to me and I live life to the fullest.  I hope that my fellow classmates have found the same sense of peace and fulfillment with their family, friends, activities and careers.
