Family: Husband: John, Children: Rachel (18—freshman at Notre Dame), Mark (15), Michael (10) CHS Memories I have SO many fun memories of time spent with friends…sleepovers at Jamie’s rambling house, working on homecoming floats and prom decorations, the wrestling championship in Columbia, being snowbound with Barry and Jimmy in Ohio (are they still enthralled with “Magic Fingers” mattresses?), the exciting water polo games, powderpuff football, Mr. Eiglebeiger’s French class with fellow underachievers, scaling the temple roof, night-time “field trips” crammed in Shornick’s car, orange letters from Camp Nebagamon, etc., etc. I will always appreciate several teachers in particular…Mr. Solomon’s overly-serious approach to art instruction, Mr. Lakinger’s tremendous enthusiasm for science, and Mr. Dickman’s strong Christian philosophy. They were all a positive influence. After High School: I work as a laboratory-based physician (pathologist), in South Bend, IN. Let’s see…Spring is the time to play in the dirt (some people call it gardening), summer is for sunny days and evening beach fires at Lake Michigan, fall is for welcoming plenty of company on Notre Dame football weekends, winter is for holidays with family and occasional escapes to more exotic locales like Iowa or Chicago. Year-round I get to spoil my kids and my dog. My life is so low key I must sound like I’m already retired! Are there any other Clayton transplants who have found happiness in Indiana?
